DEFINE - FROM INSIGHTS TO PROBLEM & VALUE

In the Define phase, I distilled research into crisp problem statements that describe where recall, cognition, and trust break down in the first minute after waking, and into value propositions that commit to how Dreamy will solve them. In short: a one-tap, voice-first capture with autosave, mood-at-entry tagging, and transparent privacy (including Mark as Sensitive) that culminates in intentional, confirmed export for therapy, delivered in a dark, accessible UI.

BIANCA

Casual Dreamer

Bianca is a casual dreamer who frequently wakes up feeling foggy and emotionally overwhelmed. She needs a way to quickly record her dreams without cognitive effort because traditional journaling feels like a chore and she often forgets them within minutes.

SONIA

The Reflective Thinker

Sonia is a thoughtful and analytical user who tracks recurring patterns in her dreams. She needs a structured but emotionally aware system to document dreams because she wants to gain insight from her subconscious but struggles with unorganized or incomplete entries.

ALEX

The Quiet Artist

Alex is a visually-driven artist who processes thoughts through mood and symbolism. He needs a way to capture dream impressions intuitively and creatively because conventional journaling apps feel rigid and emotionally disconnected.

VALUE PROPOSITIONS

Dreamy is a gentle, voice-first journaling app that helps users capture and process their dreams, even in the fog of early morning, with emotion-driven input, intuitive flow, and calming design.
Unlike traditional journaling apps, Dreamy prioritizes emotional clarity, minimal cognitive load, and self-expression, making dream reflection accessible even when the mind is messy.
